View Full Version : Suggestion for DVD-RB for more batch processing flexibility

Hi All,

Instead of having a "one click mode", or the three seperate "prepare", "encode" and "rebuild" buttons, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to simply have three tick boxes (prepare, encode and rebuild) with just a single "execute" or "go" button?

Reason I'm thinking this is because more often than not I like to do the prepare phase first then check the settings with RB-Opt. Once I've done this I then go on and do the encode and rebuild stages. However this method requires that you attend your PC on 3 seperate occasions for a single DVD project. If you are wanting to do multiples at a time then you have to attend your PC 3 times whatever the number of movies you are encoding. In my last batch of 4 projects this meant that I needed to be at my computer on 12 seperate occasions (as Daemon tools only supports 4 virtual drives), which is not only a pain but also slows down project completion times.

If my idea above was used, then you could set DVD-RB to do only the prepare stage for X amount of movies and set it going in batch mode. Then once this was done, make any alterations to the scripts you might want and set it going again on those movies in batch mode with the encode and rebuild tickboxes checked.

If it was done this way then IF you are like me and like to check your prepare phase before executing the lengthy encode and rebuild phases, you would only ever have to attend your computer twice no matter how many movies you were working with at the one time.

What do you think...
