Hello everyone!

I upgraded my system w/ a new mainboard (ASRock) and CPU (Athlon 2600) and reinstalled all software (Win XP Pro SP2, XViD, ffdshow, AC3 filter).

With some XViD movies, the players close immediately after start without error message. Strangely enough, some XViD movies play fine, as well as other codecs. I tried BSPlayer and WMP9.

Does anyone know what I could do? Did I forget to install anything?

Thx

The problem is FFDSHOW. It cannot decode some XVID functions properly. I have problems with videos encoded with XVID's one pass quality factor.

Just go to programs/ffdshow/configure and in the left panel click on 'codecs'. In the line next to 'XVID' change 'libacvodec' to 'XVID'.
If you have troubles with DivX too then change DivX as well.

Now your problems should be gone.
