Remember which menu to return to when video ends?

I am making a project in Pinnacle Impression Pro where I need to return to the menu I accessed a video from.

There will be 5 different menus that can access the same video. I have tried the method of having 5 instances of the same video clip on the timeline so that it can return to its own menu but this creates 5 video files when you build the project onto the DVD disc.

As I have a number of videos which need to do the same thing, the space on the DVD will fill up in no time!


Is there a way to have one instance of the video and it can remember which menu it was accessed from? Anyone tell me if IFOedit can do this and how, or any other DVD authoring software that can?

You can do that easily in PgcEdit. I would look for an unusued register (pgcedit can find one for you), then I would set that register to different values in the precommand area of each of the 5 menus that point to the same video (say 1 for the first, 2 for second etc). Then at the end of the video, I would have the postcommand lookup the register and jump back to the corresponding menu. It will take you 15 mn to do it in PgcEdit (that's a really powerful program if you want to change the way your DVD plays).

However, this is an "after the fact" solution, in that you have to make your DVD then edit it with PgcEdit. This means if you ever modify it again in Pinnacle, you'll have to redo the steps above, so that's not ideal. Maybe there's a possibility in pinnacle, but I know nothing about it.
