Decrypting speed problem

I am getting a slow ripping speed with DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0. I searched the forum, and none of the solutions suggested in the threads fixed my problem. I'm still ripping at 2.0x, which i feel it's slow.



I'm running:

Windows XP Pro
P4 2.26Mhz
1024Mb RDRAM
SATA: Western Digital 250Gb HDD x2
EIDE:
Western Digital 80g 7200rpm HDD (Primary Master, UDMA mode 2)
TEAC CD-R (Primary Slave, UDMA mode 5)
Sony DVD-RW DRU-500AX 2.1a (connected to secondary master @ UDMA mode 2)
*secondary slave is empty*

Sony claims 8x DVD-Rom read speed..

When I'm ripping a DVD, "buffer" gauge stays at 0% at all times. Also, the CPU usage remains around 10~20% with lots of free memory.. My HDDs are also in a good shape. I'm suspecting that Sony probably has its ripping speed limited. Does anyone have similar experiences with the Sony DRU-500AX drive? Or is there something i can do to fix this?

Some searching around in the http://www.rpc1.org/ forums seems to confirm that the 2x ripping speed is a limitation of the drive's firmware, so DVD Decrypter can't do anything about it...
