Hello, I'm sure you all know the problem I'm talking about (on playback of some videos, I get a diagnoal slash in the uppper left corner of the screen), but here is some more elaboration:
I am currently organizing a showing, and the output is essentially (laptop VGA output as secondary monitor) -> (projector). The problem is on some video files, I get the diagnoal slash mentioned above, which the upper left corner appears to be one frame behind in fast motion scenes. For decoding I currently have divx 5.2 and xvid handleing their respective formats, and I noticed that double-buffering helped the problem a LOT on divx files, but did not solve the problem completly.
As for the system, the video card is a Radeon 7200 mobile with the latest catalyst drivers. The hard drive is a 7200rpm 8MB cache model, and is about as fast as the older generation 7200RPM drives so if it is a streaming rate problem -- the problem is elsewhere.
For media players, I was originally using MediaPlayer Classic, but it seems to change the screen resolution to match the video resolution, which causes a 5 second resyncing of the projector. I could not figure out how to turn this off -- so I had to ditch MPC. I am currently using WMP10. Are there any settings I should be aware of in WMP that would fix this? Is the fact I'm trying to output on a 2nd display the root cause of this?
If anyone can offer any advice, it would be MUCH appreciated.
