Changing default menu? (Star Wars)

I'm trying to change the menu structure of my copy of the Star Wars Trilogy (PAL).
There is 1 Menu Unit, but it contains 2 versions of the menu: English and French.

The English version seems to be chosen when the language settings of the DVD is set to English, and French in all other cases.
My DVD is set to dutch, and plays the French menu instead of the English menu.
DVD play in IfoEdit plays the French version too.

I want to change the structure to have English as default, and French when the language settings are set to French only.
Does anyone know how to do that?
Or if that's not possible, how do I butcher it to play the english menu only? Never the french..

PGC-Menu_12 is English, PGC-Menu_13 is French, and the branching seems to happen in PGC-Menu_11:

My knowledge of those commands is pretty limited, but the branching seems to happen here.

you could change line 9 to this so it goes to the English language

I doubt that would fix it though as it will probably have language checks elsewhere and the audio/subs may also be incorrect. Without the IFO's to check, I can't really say as I don't have the DVD's handy. I'm sure someone like 2COOL will soon offer a solution though ;)

had a look at the IFO's and it may be rather simple to fix

in PGCedit, goto PGC 6 in VTS _01 and look at the commands and change lines 7,8 and 9 from the preffered settings to English. This way it's not using the players settings as you are already defining the setting you want. To change the command double click it and the select the value button and input 25966 and click OK

you should also be able to blank out the French PGC's as they should never really get accessed

Just curious though, is it possible have english as default, except for when the preferred setting is set to french? ;)

yes I guess it's possible

I would set them to English as above but then have an extra command checking the values of the preffered language. If it returned a value that was French then I would get it to change the values to French instead ;)

I don't know if this would work but it's what I would try. Basically it sets the language to English for menu/audio/subs but then checks afterwards whether French is the preferred language and changes them to French of it is

Yeah I was toying with the same thing, but when I add those 3 commands the other goto statements point to the wrong lines..
Can those be automatically updated, or do I have to do that manually?

Nevermind, found an option that does that for me.

if you add 3 lines, highlight the remaining lines onwards and then hold CTRL and SHIFT and press the '+' key 3 times to add 3 to the subsequent goto's

there's probably an easier way but I don't use PGCEdit so I can't really say :(

A last question, why do you use the binary compare (&) instead of the equals (==) ?
Comparisons with values is done bitwise?

pass :), I actually edited the commands with DVDRemake as it's easier to follow and just imported into PGCEdit. I just copied the original commands and then edited them

to tell you the truth I don't fully understand what is what yet with those & ==signs :D but I find I can edit/add/delete commands rather easily anyway

@2COOL, isn't that what I suggested above but I just missed the other references in the PGC's? I didn't think about using the search feature ;)

I also suggested that he change the subs and audio as you wouldn't want French audio/subs with English menu's?

it shows 'en' in PGCedit for me by the way
