View Full Version : DVD Rebuilder 0.58 - 0.62 Error #0003

mpgrimes
25th September 2004, 21:37
Ive tried all versions from .58 to the newest one, but no matter when one i use i get the #0003 buffer overflow error.

I get this error much sooner in the rebuild process with the newer versions, before it rebuilds teh first segment. when i use version .58 it get to about the 13th segment (in this case 89% done) and then i get the bufer overflow error.

have you used any pre-processing? and if so which?
I've had this problem with DVD's I pre-processed with DVD-Remake. I've not yet run into this problem on originals.
What DVD is it?

A specific DVD? More than one? Not a whole lot of information to work with...

mpgrimes
26th September 2004, 22:06
DVD is Passion of the Christ, first DVD ive tried. ripped it wiht DVD Decrypter and let DVD rebuilder do the rest.. all settings in rebuilder are default. Using CCE 2.5 sp full with EclCCE. all M2V files can be viewed without any errors. I am new at this. so maybe im just missing something. Had a friend show me what to do and he has been successful with his backups.

I did that one (Region 1, NTSC) without a problem... but that was a couple of versions ago. I'll try it again.

I just had this error on Blade 2, region 1. I did no preprocessing. Used version .58, I think and CCE 2.67. Error occurred somewhere around segment 13, but cannot give exact info. The machine is tied up for the next 12 hours.

Is there a way to redo the rebuild without redoing phase I and II?

mpgrimes
28th September 2004, 05:57
interesting.. that when i used version .58 i got the error around segment 13 i think it was as well.. when i tried newer version.. .61 and .62 i got it on the first segment.

Be very careful with this title.

Italian release (but I think all PAL R2 releases) contains a DVD protection scheme that makes very troublesome the legitimate backup of this title.

Both the Ifo files and the some cells are intentionally screwed up. In addition there is a plenty of space (if I remind well, something like 800MB) of black video and screwed unreferenced material.

Please take this title as an exception, to handle in very specific manner.

1. You should use Decrypter ver. 3.5.1.0 [Released on last September 2nd]

2. Simply try this first.

3. I never suggest the usage of preprocessing tools, but in case point 2 fails, you could give a try to VobBlanker, [simply load the title and process it...] in order to remove unreferenced material.

4. I am quite sure the troubles you have are not related to DVD-RB, but to the singularities intentionally included in the original title...

Cheers,
SD

Well I tried again on Blade 2 region 1:
no preprocessing.
Ripped with DVDcrypter 3.2.2.0
DVDRB ver 0.62
ECLCCE 2.67.0.25
AviSynth 2.5
cctspt.exe is v 2.67.0.23

Error occurred while
Rebuilding Segment:9, VOBID:1, CellID:10

Are there any suggestions how to finish this rebuild?
If not, I'll wait for the next build

Can you post the section out of Rebuilder.inf that covers that segment it should start with [V0?000900001010] (the ? represents the VTS -- you didn't mention it).

I'll retry it on the weekend, when I am back in town. I have destroyed the files, but will recreate the job on Sunday, then send you the data.

Sir Didymus

I don't know if it is relevant to notice this, but it seems to me that this one of danjx is the second case of a person posting a log file where the Language String is somehow corrupted (missed the "=" character)...

Could that have any influence on the reported error ?

jdobbs
30th September 2004, 22:40
It's the third -- I saw the same thing about a month ago. I can assure you that DVD-RB didn't do it, because it uses the WritePrivateProfileString() function of Windows -- which will always put the "=" in...

Notice that if it were correctly used with "=" there would be no languages selected, that's also the same as the previous example.

I was able to remote into the computer and rerun the job.

Here is the Rebuilder.ini also. I notice that the "=" is back there for Languages. Next, I will try the rebuild on a different machine to determine is there is a machine specific problem.

Tryed to do the rebuilding with version 060 but same problem.

At about 95% of the rebuild phase.

@danjx,

You need to find out how your .INI file is getting hosed. The Language line is trashed... something has to be doing it.

My problem is solved. I made a few errors when stripping from a multi pgc. The last pgc was relinked to the others so that caused the error.

This was with Star Wars Extras which now works like a charm.

I uses DVDRB 0.62

The problem is here in the forum message posting module. The 's' and equal sign are there in edit post mode before I click the Submit button, but do not display in message reading mode. It should say Languages=111....111 (lots of 1s)

The actual file has it correctly and it was correct before I clicked the Submit button. Maybe the long line causes a problem in the message posting module.

Actually that's good to hear. I've seen it so many times I was starting to think DVD-RB was screwing up somewhere -- I was dumbfounded, because I never access that file directly. I only readn and write through the system functions for private profile strings. It must be a glitch in the forum software -- parts of that string may have some sort of special meaning.

I was just tring to do a movie and I keep getting the error #0003.
The funny thing is if I do it with CCE I get the error at segment 23. If I do it with ProCoder I get the error at segment 3. I've never had these problems. Why would I get the error at different segments with different encoders during the rebuild stage?

Version used was .63a.

I am having the same error #0003 with all the Rebuilder versions. I tried the last version 0.64a with the same problem. Before upgrading my computer to a new processor and new video card I was using version 0.56 without any problems but after the upgrade all the versions are giving the same error.

I noted that Rebuilder D2VAVS folder is very small between 704 mb and 2.3 GB compared when I had no problems that was always over 3.3 GB.

I reinstalled all the necessary applications several times. I am using CCE trial v2670027

I will appreciate any help.

Thanks,

I include the rebuilder. ini and item. ecl files of my last attempt, the final D2VAVS folder was only 704MB.

are you missing any *.M2V files?

Going through this thread I noticed something unussual in the "languages" setting of all the posted rebuilder.ini files:

KeppWalking: All zeroes

wfiguero: No "languages" setting

danjx: All ones

Also, none of them contains the "subpicture" setting.

As part of the rebuilder process is to remux the video with the audio and subtitles, maybe it is related to the error

I've got a question since I always get #0003 errors as well. I just attempted a rebuild on an episodic disk (The Young Ones: Every Stoopid Episode) where VTS_01 is 6,832 MBytes. The audio is just 2 channel AC3, which doesn't take up much space. But in the D2VAVS folder, V01.D2V is only 1,140 MBytes. Does that seem correct? I didn't do any preprocessing.

I'm going to answer my own question - apparently I have forgotten that the D2V file actually stores information about the contents of the VOB files. Whoops - I must have been thinking M2V instead. But, like someone else had reported in this thread, my D2VAVS folder also ends up pretty small - under 2 GB. It should be larger.

I can post the ECL of this if that would be helpful. I haven't tried a lot of DVDs with Rebuilder, but also had a similar problem with Shrek R1 a couple of Rebuilder versions ago. I'm going to try that again to see if I still get the #0003 error.

If anyone has any other ideas for me to try, just let me know. I really want to get this to work.

Look at my post just before your first.

Your rebuilder.ini does not show any "languages=" setting. Is it so or you just choose not to paste?

If your .ini file actually does not have the "languages=" setting, try going to RB Setup and check all the audio streams except English (as an example, but have at least one language unchecked). -Do the same with subtitles. Remember to save. In this way your rebuilder.ini file should now have the "Languages=" and "sLanguages=" settings. Verify.

Test and good luck

lamster
19th October 2004, 21:38
Note that the posting software doesn't like the "Languages=" line; I have no idea why. I've had it cut off previously; tried various things to "trick" it into showing up in the preview as I had pasted it into the reply box, but eventually gave up.

Yes, but I had understood the problem as it just doesn´t show the "=" (equal) simbol, but that it shows the line. What I'm talking is that or the line is not there or it is all ones or all zeroes.

It can happen when the user likes to select the streams manually, so he does not feel the necessity of doing it through Setup

I'm in the middle of my encode where I've set the language and subpictures and I just noticed something interesting in the the main .D2V file. I am encoding a 4:3 disk of TV episodes (which Rebuilder confirms as 4:3 in the Video Title Set frame), but this is what the first few lines of the D2V say:

DGIndexProjectFile06
7
24 G:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB
24 G:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB
24 G:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB

24 G:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_5.VOB
24 G:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_6.VOB
24 G:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_7.VOB

Stream_Type=1
iDCT_Algorithm=2
YUVRGB_Scale=1 (0:TVScale 1:PCScale)
Luminance_Filter=0,0 (Gamma, Offset)
Clipping=0,0,0,0 (ClipLeft, ClipRight, ClipTop, ClipBottom)
Aspect_Ratio=16:9
Picture_Size=720x480
Field_Operation=0 (0:None 1:ForcedFILM 2:RawFrames)
Frame_Rate=23976
Location=0,0,6,55FCA

Notice the Aspect Ratio - very strange indeed. :confused: I then found this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77780) that also talks about the incorrect aspect ratio (in relation to Gordian Knot). I don't know if it will help to change it, esp. after reading the thread about the Family Guy season 1&2 DVD (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84114), but I'll see how this encode goes. If I still end up with an error #0003, I'm going to try changing the aspect ratio manually in the .D2V.

Unfortunately, both the encode where the languages and subpictures were selected in the settings and the encode where I manually changed the Aspect_Ratio parm in the D2V file to 4:3 ended up with an #0003 error. I can post more info about either - I've kept the working directories for both.

In your post the Languages and sLangauges settings shows ALL ZEROs. This means in Setup you select "Uncheck All" before saving. (Or, as mentioned before, that the posting software of this forum is not showing these settings correctly)

Please try with "Check All" and then uncheck manually the languages you would like to keep generally (English, Spanish and Portuguese subtiltles in my case) before saving.

Check that in Languages and sLanguages of your Rebuilder.ini you have most ONES but at least one ZERO.

Try again. But after Thor263 post I have little hope

I decided to reencode using Quenc and it worked (with very good results - impressive in fact). The rebuild phase worked just fine - yeah! The interesting thing is comparing the size of the m2v files from CCE vs Quenc.

M2V file list from CCE (the first 5 files):

10/19/2004 09:17 PM 43,042,436 V01000000001001.m2v
10/19/2004 09:21 PM 48,969,908 V01000100001002.m2v
10/19/2004 09:25 PM 46,113,784 V01000200001003.m2v
10/19/2004 09:30 PM 49,445,628 V01000300001004.m2v
10/19/2004 09:35 PM 59,281,408 V01000400001005.m2v

M2V file list from Quenc (the same 5 files):

10/20/2004 08:08 PM 112,994,539 V01000000001001.m2v
10/20/2004 08:40 PM 117,527,474 V01000100001002.m2v
10/20/2004 09:10 PM 108,475,642 V01000200001003.m2v
10/20/2004 09:44 PM 121,852,941 V01000300001004.m2v
10/20/2004 10:14 PM 122,784,547 V01000400001005.m2v

Hmm...it's very curious. The ECL files between CCE and Quenc are very similar, so I'm not sure what exactly is going on. I'm tried looking for an ECL syntax guide of some sort to do some more investigation myself, but haven't come across much useful info. Does anyone know of one or where I can look for more info?

I tried the same encode again with the lastest CCE SP Trial Version and EclCCE and it worked fine too, so I think the problem lies with CCE Basic 2.69.01.04. This thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=82767) also highlights problems with this version, so it would be best to update to the latest version.
