I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed the audio
going in and out of sync by just a half a second or so from
cell to cell?

I've not had any audio sync problems on originals I have run through DVD-RB. I have had some audio problems on pre-processed DVD's.
Can you give more info on your problem? What dvd is it, what options your using, any pre-processing, ect?

It made no difference if I preprocessed or not.
If I did preprocess, it was with DVDReMakePro.
It happens on any DVD I try to backup :-(
I have tried CCE Basic 2.69.01.09, CCE SP 2.67.00.23 and
CCE SP 2.67.00.27.
This has been happening to me since I tried DVD-RB 0.53 and Up.
I have tried processing movies on both of my P4 machines.
One is a 2.2 P4 and the is 3.01 HT P4
I notice the sync Issues on 4 different Stand alone DVD player's
and in Power DVD 5
thanx, mike

I've just had (what I hope) was my first major audio synch problem with dvd-rebuilder v.62. The dvd was The Jamie Kennedy Experiment Season 1, Disc 2, which is an NTSC R1 dvd. The audio was out of synch by about half a second when played on my standalone player, a pioneer 434. The problem appeared on the second chapter of each of the episodes on the disc- right at the start of the chapter there was a faint pop and the audio was out of synch for the rest of the episode. I'm using cce 2.50, the april 24 version of mpeg2dec3dg, avisynth 2.54.
When I played the vobs produced by dvd-rebuilder in PowerDVD on my computer I didn't see the audio go out of synch. To my knowledge everything else I've done to date with dvd-rebuilder hasn't had this problem.
Recently I've used dvd-rebuilder .62 on two seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm which is a another TV series, I've watched 2 discs of it and there were no problems. At any rate, I think this may be the same audio dropout problem people have experienced in recent versions, and it seems it's still present in .62

I'm having audio sync issues with smaller video segments. I am not preprocessing anything, but simply ripping the original DVD with DVD Decrypter in ISO mode, and mounting with Daemon Tools.
The 2 discs I've had problems with so far are Jersey Girl, and Disc 1 Season 1 of Star Trek (the original series). Both discs are R1 NTSC.
Jersey Girl has an audio sync problem in the extras when Kevin Smith introduces the segments of Roadside Attractions. I used DVD-RB 0.61 or so, and noticed that problem. It was such a short (less than a minute or so) segment, that I really didn't care, or mention it.
The Star Trek disc 1 Season 1 has audio sync problems with the trailers for the episodes THE NAKED TIME and THE MAN TRAP, which once again are short segments. I just used version 0.63 I downloaded last night and tried it, and the problem still exists.
My equipment is:
AMD 2100
512MB RAM
Asisynth version 2.5.4.0
mpeg2dec3 v1.0.1.0
DVD-RB 0.63
CCE 2.50 SP
Also, almost all settings are left at their default values. I am not doing Half D1, or stealing space from extras or anything. The only thing I'm having DVD-RB remove is the 2 channel audio track.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

The Star Trek discs (R1, NTSC) are DVD-5 as originals and will fit as-is on a DVD+-R. What kind of processing are you doing?

No, these are the newly released DVDs that contain 4 episodes per disc, and the box set contains the entire season 1. Each disc is about 8.3gig.
Also, the Star Trek shows appear to play fine in PowerDVD, but not in my Pioneer 434 DVD player. I'm taking it to another DVD player for testing tonight. I know for a fact that the Jersey Girl problem exists on multiple DVD players, because I tested it at the time.

Ok, here is an update. I've tested the disc on all 4 of my DVD players. If I get a chance, I'll try it in my portable DVD too...
The audio is out of sync on these players:
Pioneer 434
Pioneer DV-C503
The audio plays fine on:
Pioneer DV-563A
APEX AD-500WM
A side note is that for the preview of the THE NAKED TIME, the video seems to hang up and pause for a moment at the very beginning on both the APEX, and in POWER DVD on the computer, but both seem to compensate and correct the audio sync after that. I don't see the video do anything weird on the preview of the THE MAN TRAP.
I did not notice anything out of the ordinary at all when playing the disc on the Pioneer DV-563A.

I typically back up my DVD's and then archive them. I don't usually watch them as I have the original. This weekend I happened to be watching My Monk Season 1 and 2 backups and noticed a problem. at varios points on each disc the audio sync goes out. It inevitably corrects itself after a few minutes, but goes out none the less. In Disk 4 or season 1 right after the man on the place dies in "Mr Mon and the Airplane" and Monk is talking to the pilot...sync goes out.
In "Mr Monk Goes to the Ballgame" just as Monk is trying not to look at the naked model...sync goes out again. I have not had any issues with any full feature film backups, but all of my episodic disks I am finding out, have sync issues. I have narrowed it down that far.
I am using the latest non VIP release of DVD-RB (.72 I believe) and the latest Avisynth.
I am using the latest DVDDecrypeter and CCE 2.5. I am at work and can give more info when I get home if anyone is interested as I only report this to try to help figure out a solution.
DVD-RB is the best app there is for backing up DVD's, but I will have to wait till the sync issue is cleared up before doing any episodic disks.
If anyone else backs up a lot of these as I do, please watch them and let me know if you see the same things.
Thanks Jdobbs for a great app.:)
Almost forgot. Once ripped with Decrypter the disk plays fine in spots that the sync is off after DVD-RB is done. In other words, it is fine in Windvd as an ISO ripped and mounted with Daemon tools. The problem occurs after processing. After processing it does still contain the sync issue when played via WinDVD.

There were some audio sync issues associated with v0.73 -- and they were fixed within a couple of days (v0.74). Other than that -- reports of audio synchronization problems are pretty much non-existent.
I'm not doubting what you said -- but I also want to avoid unnecessary concerns in the minds of those who may be reading this.

I understand. I will have to give that version a whirl. I hope that it is fixed. It is been doing this since I started making episodic disks.
Thanks jdobbs.
