It would be helpful if you clarified your question - it's very difficult to figure out what you're asking (at least for me....)

I tried DGIndex and dvd2avi3. Neither can make HDTV 720p, but I can make 1080i using DGIndex. I also tried HDTVtoMPEG2,It doesn't work either.

I think he want to convert 1080i HDTV streams to 720p "whatever mpeg4".

There are a couple of threads around for this - the sticky thread in this forum

has a lot of good information.
I normally just use Force Film, because I find most 1080i end up being FILM, then use AVISynth to crop the video and resize to 1280x720 (or 544, or whatever).
Other than using DGIndex, it's not much different than converting a DVD to Divx....
