Hi,

i am considering to buy 3ivx for their aac DS filter.
I have 3ivx for longer then a month (only used it for the splitter so far) i cant re-install it and try whether the aac DS filter works in virtualdub.
And has anyone information when the next version may be released and with what improvements?

erm rite,
can i move this thread to the codec forum or only admins can do that?

anyway was looking forward to encode straigt into aac from virtualdub. I currently encode it to mp3 then transcode it to aac using faac.

As stated by bond 3ivx will not enable you to encode from virtualdub with AAC. So if that is your desire your plans will not fulfill it. What you want requires an AAC ACM codec. Which at this point does not exist. And for good reason. Technically it "is" possible to acomplish. But it would require "a significant dumbing down" of the codec to accomidate the ACM framework. Which would give you worse quality results at a higher bitrate. Not a good thing.

Graphedit misses a lot of things that makes life easier, a few:
- saving preset settings
- directory batch processing
- job control
- easy/visual settings for things like resize, cropping, etc.
