ok i've never had a problem ripping a dvd before but this one has me stumped. i'm trying to back up happy tree friends vol 3 and i'm not able to rip it. when i stick the disc in either my dvd-rom or my dvd-rw drive it cant read it. in fact when i goto my computer and try and look at the dvd from there it doesnt show up. when i put the dvd in my dvd-rw drive and then load dvd decrypter it say "Device Not Ready (Incompatible Medium Installed)" at the bottom when it starts to load up the dvd. when i load the dvd in my dvd-rom with dvd decrypter it shows "Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)". when i load up nero info tool it shows no disc inserted. i've tried to use windvd and other programs to play it but nothing works. the disc works just fine in my standalone dvdplayer though. i just cant figure it out. the disc is brand new and doesnt have a scratch on it. could this be some new sort of copy protection? i'm running windows xp by the way.

my apologies that this isn't a solution, but since we are both having the same problem it may shed some light for more experienced readers. i am having the exact same problem with a chinese import of Hero. it appears to be region 1 and plays fine in a standalone player, but my dvd-r drive doesn't acknowledge it. i have a sony dru-530a if it matters. dvddecrypter says the same thing (incompatible medium installed.) powerdvd doesn't think there is a disc in the drive. vstrip doesn't see it either, nor does My Computer. even dvdxcopy can't see it. any ideas, anyone? thanks in advance.
