View Full Version : Batch Processing confusion

How exactly does bathc processing and saving/openning projects work in DVD-RB? What I'd like to do is Prepare the d2v's, open them in RB-Opt to set up OPV prediction, then go back to DVD-RB and save this project so it's ready for the Encode phase. Then I can go to another disc and run the Prepare steps, and have it ready to Encode. But batch processing doesn't seem to work they way I want it to, where I could just load two projects which already have a rebuilder.ecl file created and just begin the Encode and Rebuild processes. It seems to only want to start from the beginning in a One Click method. Am I doing something wrong?

Batch only works for an entire encode: Prepare, Encode, and Rebuild.

thanks jdobbs. Any plans on implementing such an option? I mean, I can already run a batch Encode job manually simply by loading the rebuilder.ecl files into CCE for each job. But then of course what I'd really need is a batch Rebuild process, right?

If you want batch prosessing after the prepare stage, use RBFarm.:)
Using batch in RBFarm, still means rebuilding afterwards tough.:(

Why do you need to run the Prepare seperately from the encode and rebuild? Are you making changes to the output?

Yes, I like to use RB-Opt after the Prepare phase because I prefer its OPV prediction method. As well I can tweak my CCE settings to use other CCE matrices, like the KVCD Notch matrix. I'll give RB-Farm a try but I wasn't sure if it would work because I'm not trying to encode over a network of machines.

jdobbs...
Any chance you will give us RBFarm guys batching for prepare and rebuild phases?
