Just started using the new version 3.2 the picture quality is excellent, tried to backup empire strikes back, were Luke as lost is hand, just about to jump off that platform and the picture pauses for a split second. This is play back on my computer, does not do it on the source DVD.Tried the encode again from scratch and it still does it in the same place. Had ago with CloneDVD2 this morning and it plays back perfect.But really I would like the quality of shrink.
Anybody had the same problem?:(

@flash

Could that be where the layer break is? are you removing the layer break with DVD Shrink? This setting is in the preferences area. DOes it pause anywhere else?

Yes I have enabled the remove layer break on shrink. Plus it is right
near the end of the film. I was going to try an older version of shrink to see if there is any difference. Will let you know.

With old version still the same, so burned to disc anyway played
ok on stand alone, so maybe could be power dvd. Will have to try more
up to date one.

@Flash

I don't know what region your disk is... but just for the benifit of the doubt, I ran mine through IFOedit to check the locations of the layer breaks. On the Region 1 version of The Empire Strikes Back , there are two layer breaks noted: The first occuring at the scene where Leia is started by the Minok... the scene where the 'Falcon is inside the space slug. The second occurs right at the end of the credits. Since the Off-With-His-Hand scene is unaffected, at least (provided, that is, you're using a Region 1 disk) we can rule out a layer break issue.

Since your stand-alone doesn't hicup on this scene, it does sound safe to say that it's an issue with PowerDVD.

Hope that helps ya out!
