http://freshmeat.net/projects/faac/

This new page on Freshmeat provides an overview of Linux software that uses the open source AAC codecs FAAC and FAAD2. It also lists URLs to different source packages, ports to other *nix versions and existing rpm packages.

Freshmeat is a major open source application catalogue, archive and hoster, too. If you are registered as an user, you can subscribe to project updates and also rate the different projects.

I can recommend Freshmeat, it seems to be more useful than scoureforge for small and active programms (like avinfo)

What I like on Freshmeat.net is their Dependencies section that doesn't have an equivalent page or feature on SourceForge. You'll get a quick overview of other related Freshmeat projects on the same page and can find interesting applications very effectively. Rating a project is an unique feature there, and the Stats section works fine, too.

But SourceForge is also a great help for new projects, because it has huge hosting capacities that Freshmeat lacks (only in the Themes section). And it provides CVS, mailing lists and forums for free as well.
