I have had this problem with a very few DVDs so far.
I have copied close to 200 DVDs without error yet in that process there has been about three that have simply not been recognized. At all.
The computer simply thinks there is No Disc inserted. And yet the same DVD will play in my stand alone DVD player.

Has anyone experienced this?
Right now it is doing it with the original "Dune" DVD.
Any hints, PLEASE POST...
Thanks...

Did you try reading them in another drive? Maybe yours just doesnt like the discs.

I've had the same trouble with several discs including:

Horatio Hornblower, Disc 3
The Quiet American

In both cases, I've tried multiple copies of the disc on multiple computers. In all cases, the disc appears blank without even a title. In both cases, the discs play fine in a standard component DVD player.

maybe a driver or firmware update is needed.

The discs it can't read aren't copies , are they?
My son's computer gives the same error on any backups I make on this computer. ( but it does read discs made by our laptop)

I had the same problem. I found if I ripped with Decrypter, and then used Shrink to compress and burn, it wouldn't register. If I ripped, and burned with Shrink, all was well. To save a long, drawn out explanation, here's the link:

Most of what you need is on the second page. I hope this will be of help.
