I'm in DVD2DVD mode and its always turned out quality rips. Never any complaints. However, I have one question. Is there a way up the size of the default file that is created. By default using the DVD-R settings, the file is 4.34 GB. Is there a way to get this up to 4.5 GB? I know thats not that much different...I just hate waste. In some longer movies, every little bit helps. Thanks!

Hi,

4.5GB is oversize, and won't fit on a single layer disc. The allowable maximums are:

Blank DVD-R 4,489MB 4,706,074,624 bytes or 4.383GB
Blank DVD+R 4,483MB 4,700,372,992 bytes or 4.377GB

You can alter the output size by changing the value of the CD size parameter - I think it is on the bitrate tab. However, I don't recommend going above 4470MB, since you can get results which won't fit!

Regards,
Bob

Good to know. I was hoping to squeeze out a little more bitrate. Had another questions...is there any advantage using CCE 2.66+ over 2.5. I know you would have to use EclCCE, but would that slow down performance?

Hi,

EclCCE doesn't affect the speed. However, v2.66 (and later versions) are slower than v2.50 if you have an athlon XP processor. I'm not sure about the relative performance with a P4 or Athlon64.

I think v2.66 (and later versions) are slightly better picture quality than v2.50, but there isn't much in it.
