How to limit DVD read speed ?

I have a HTPC with a LG dvd drive, running perfect, but I want to limit the read speed to 2x, because its making alot of noise when I´m playing my DVD movies and I think I heard of a program which can limit the read speed, so it don't spin at full speed doing a movie.


Anyone have any suggestions ??

Is there a way to the opposide? My Hitachi 4X does not read fast enough. Windows buffers does not help :(
