Hi,
I think that's a codec problem, but I couldn't solve it:
I have a problem to open with virtual dub few Xvid coded video.
after loading the files, VD display a massege: NOTHING TO OUTPUT BFRAME DECODER LAG instead of the first frame of the video
few of the files I downloaded, and others I codded using virtual dub in the same computer few months ago.
I identified the codec using GSpot: "XVID/yv12"
other Xvid files which are opened, for those GSpot gives: "XVID" (without /yv12).
I have tried to install some Xvid codec but it didn't help.
What codec do I need? How can I fix it ? Can it be DivX?

thanks

Next time, use the search button :sly:

The b-frame decoder lag is only a warning given by the codec to tell you that because b-frames were used, video will be shifted by a few frames when opened in VirtualDub.

There's nothing wrong with it ( it's in fact the fault of the avi container, which was not meant to contain MPEG-4 with b-frames ). It's only a warning, the video will be perfectly correct, except for the time shift.

If I remember correctly that can be prevented by using packed bitstream(however packed bitstream has it's own problems) Can someone verify if that's correct?
