View Full Version : v0.60: cce encodes always with mpeg1 cbr 6000

hello,
just upgraded and wondered why cce is so fast today. Canceled the encoding process and found out, that cce was encoding with mpeg1 cbr 6000!
loaded the whole rebuilder.ecl in cce, and all segments would be coded in mpeg1 cbr 6000.
loaded an old rebuilder.ecl, generated with 0.59, everything was fine.
deleted the rebuilder.ini, set up again, but not worked.

Please tell us exactly what version of CCE you are using and if you are using EclCCE.
For me, I am using CCE SP Trial 2.67.00.27 with EclCCE 1.81, and I get the same problem. To get it to encode as multipass VBR, I have to edit REBUILDER.ECL and change video_type from 16 to 4.
jdobbs,
If this is an issue with autodetecting the version of CCE being used, would it be possible to add a CCE Version variable in the ini file that we could edit ourselves if the autodetection doesn't work for some reason?

Well this has to be my fault. 16 is supposed to only be used for the retail version. I'll look at it again.
If this is an issue with autodetecting the version of CCE being used, would it be possible to add a CCE Version variable in the ini file that we could edit ourselves if the autodetection doesn't work for some reason? I don't think so. I'm already spending way too much time chasing self-inflicted problems that are caused by people who are manually modifying files and parameters. If someone sets it wrong, they will surely forget to mention it when they post their problems...
(BTW... I'm having a bad day)

You've got a great point. I actually deleted my ini file before redoing the most recent tests in the dropout thread because I was worried I might have set something wrong and forgotten about it, but I'm not sure how many people would think of deleting the ini when there's a problem.
I sure hope my persistence in the dropout thread isn't aggravating your bad day :)

I just posted version 0.60a -- it fixes this error.

Are you 100% sure it's fixed, jdobbs? I just used 0.60a to create an .ecl, and it came back with a video_type 16, and a 6000 CBR encode.

?????? Let me look again. It looks for "ECLCCE.EXE" in the path -- you haven't renamed it have you?

Of course not .... the exact path to my CCE (New) in the ini is CCENEW=C:\Program Files\CCE SP\EclCCE.exe
