Hi!

At the moment I am trying to split a Stargate DVD to two DVD-Rs. I could not find any tool which is able to do that. I tried DVDFab, DVDXCopy and ifoedit. The problem might be that all 4 episodes are in one title set.
The only program that somehow works is CloneDVD2. I have unchecked the last 2 episodes of the original disk but left every other element checked. The result fitted perfectly on one DVD-R. I tested the result with the DVD-Player included in ifoedit and it worked exactly as expected.
The problem is that I cannot play the disk in WinDVD or PowerDVD. They all crash when opening the disk.

Can I fix the resulting DVD compilation somehow or is there another program that can split the disk?

Just run your new dvd through dvdshrink (fulldisc). It's not going to change your vid/audio, but it will write new ifo's that will solve your problem.
.
Many ways to fix this but shrink may simply be the easiest way to correct.

Thank You! Thank You! It worked!

After that I had the new problem that I had to wait for the copyright warnings for very language to show up before I could enter the language menu. But I could resolve it by editing the First Play PGC with ifoedit.

when I backed up my stargate disc I used dvd author.
put 3 episodes per disc.
I put just the episodes and none of the extras.

I used shrink to get each episode down to about 1500mb and did away with subtitles and extra audio.

I actually like my disc better than the originals.
episodes play one right after the other. With the originals you watch an episode then have to go to the main menu and pick another.
I am just to lazy for that:) My finger can't take the strain.
