ffdshow xivd decoding option?

If I setup ffdshow to decode xvid based videos using the xvid codec, will it use the one I installed on the system, or some other version it came pre-packed with?

It will use the one you installed on your system. But then again, why would you want to use xvid for decoding when you can do the same job with ffdshow's own decoder? AFAIK currently there shouldn't be any problems with libavcodec's xvid decoding...

... or more exactly ... it will use what u set. ffdshow has 3 options for decoding xvid : disable (will use xvid decoder if installed, libav otherwise) libavcodec or xvid1 (ffdshow's inner decoder) find it in the 'codec' pane. if u install ffdshow freshly, it sets xvid to libav, iirc.
