I am using DVD Shrink 3.2 to backup my DVD collection, and Nero 6.3.1 to burn them. The problem that I am having is that after using Shrink to "do it's thing", I physically have to start Nero afterwards to begin the burning process. I was under the impression that after using Shrink, Nero would automatically open and begin the burning process as long as I have a blank DVD in my second drive. I've been in the preferences of Shrink and selected "enable burning with Nero", but that didn't work. Please set me straight on this matter. Many thanks.

when you open the disk dvd shrink analizes the dvd. then you have the option to back up or re author. which are you doing? i dont believe it makes a differance but it might. but when you choose back up it will start the encoding, then burn automatically after encoding.

In DVDShrink, once you select the Backup button you have several selections you can make. The one that may be vexing you is the Target Device selection. In the Select backup target you will want the DVD burner drive selected from the pull down menu. If it isn't shown there then Shrink will simply copy the movie to the hard drive and stop.

That did it guys. My problem was just as you said. When I selected "back-up", my source and target drives were the same. After I changed the target, it started to burn automatically. Thanks for solving this nagging problem.:D
