Hi

I've got a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D7830 witch a DVD+RW RW8165 DVD Writer.
My problem is, that when I burn a DVD and I wanna look at it, the player breaks at the beginning of chapter 9 und then powers of, its a pioneere DV-454 standalone player with is very good.
I burned some DVD's with less then 8 chapters and there is no Problem while watching them.
Power DVD 5 also braaks on my PC @ chapter 9.
But when there is a scene selection menue on the DVD I can choose chapter 9 and it plays without any Problems.

Can someone help me? Please!

Try using DVD decrypter to rip the movie to your hard drive then in recode import the files you saved to your hard drive. See if it still happens. Get it here http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Rippers/SetupDVDDecrypter_3.5.1.0.exe

Or if you arent severly attached to Recode you could try out DVD Shrink and see if that works better for you. They are very very similar programs in terms of GUI and quality. Though I feel that Shrink produces slightly better quality, though i havent had much experience with recode.

@dannyv: I ripped the DVD's with DVDdecrypter before I used Recode 2

@TheSeeker: I tested DVD Shrink, 10 minutes ago, and it works, i'm happy, but I don't understand why Nero doesn't work...

thanks 4 all your tips and help!!!

Hmm, has anyone done any Nero Recode 2 vs. DVDShrink posts?

A friend just told me about Recode (I wasn't aware of it till then) and he is acting like it blows all others away.

Hmm, has anyone done any Nero Recode 2 vs. DVDShrink posts?Yes, more than once...

Rumors are that Recode is almost the same as Shrink because the Shrink programmer also works for Ahead on Recode.
I had the feeling that with some older versions of Recode and Shrink I had a slightly better result with Recode but I haven't done any comparisons lately.

The only negative thing that happened to me recently was that Recode 2.1.1.18 produced an image that was about 400MB too big to fit on a DVD5. The movie was "The Great Gatsby" (old movie with R. Redford and Mia Farrow). I haven't tested Shrink on this yet, but it should be interesting...

Had the same problem now with "Master and Commander" - Recode 2.1.1.18 wrote an image that was a few hundred MB too big for a DVD-R

I used Shrink 3.2.0.15 then (with all quality options enabled, HQ mode set to "smooth") and it worked flawlessly. I think I'm going to stick to Shrink from now on...

I've used Nero Recode 2.1.1.18 on a DVD back up of Van Helsing, I did it using DVD Region+CSS Free 5.16 on the background, and the result was very good. I use some times DVD Shrink with very good results too.
I think Nero Recode should work very good, as well as DVD Shrink... in many things, they look pretty much the same. :sly:
Greetings!
