I have been going round in circles for a while now, was hoping somebody might be able to help me out.

Ok...I have a few divx movies that i want to convert to ksdvd (using diko) but the movies are running at 30fps - diko wont take them (unless its gold)

I tried dvd2svcd (both converting it to PAL and leaving it at NTSC) both come out with the same problem, the audio sounds like its in slow-mo.

I tried openingthe divx file in virtual dub mod then extracting the audio (it was mp3 - then adding it to the stream list) then going to the "Video Tab" > Frame Rate. Here i tried both "Adjust Source Frame Rate - 25.000 and the next set of options with is "Frame Rate Conversion" - Convert to 25.000....both dont work for me!

Does anybody know a way i can change the FPS on this divx movie from 30FPS to say 25FPS? I prefer using diko as it allows me to put a few divx movies on a dvdr. I have tried searching for a answer and come up with nothing!

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Fracmo :)

If I were in that position, I'd recommend slowing the video down to 29.970 fps, then IVTC the video, which should bring the frame rate down to 23.976, and the speeding the video back up to 25.000 fps. Other than that, I'm not sure how I'd do it without the audio sounding very slow and all. From 30.000 -> 29.970, the audio will slow down a little, but then from 29.970 -> 23.976 (via IVTC) the audio should remain constant, and then from 23.976 -> 25.000, the audio should speed up some. That's the way that I'd attempt it. If I'm wrong about anything here, go ahead and correct me as I've done fps changes in only a few tests, and not anything major yet.

30.000 -> 25.000 = 16.67% slow down of audio

30.000 -> 29.970 = 0.10% slow down of audio
29.970 -> 23.976 = 0.00% audio change
23.976 -> 25.000 = 4.27% speed up of audio

Hope that helps you out. :)

EDIT: After thinking for about 5 minutes on this, I doubt that this would work, as the IVTC process will either fail, or leave the video choppy. I've never tried IVTC on a non-telecined source, so I would try this just out of curiosity. Perhaps a senior in video processing can help you out more.

As for searching, try searching for "NTSC PAL Convert" or something, as 30.000 is near the NTSC 29.970 and 25.000 is PAL itself. To save you some trouble, I did a quick search and here a few helpful results for your predicament:
