how to jump to main menu?

I used DVDStripper to remove all the pre menu stuff from the disc. When I play the files in IFOEdit, the status window seems to cycle thru several blank titles that I may have removed. My dvd player doesnt seem to recognize the disc as well.

How do I get straight to the menu after loading the disc. The menu seems to be in the Titleset Menu VTS.

Using your VIDEO_TS.IFO / VMG Overview / Number of Title Play Maps as reference, what Titles have you blanked out?

Use your Copy2clipboard button in IfoEdit to copy and then paste the Number of Title Play Maps section only in your next reply post?

If you had blanked out any of the Titles above, which ones were they? You can use DVD Shrink on your original DVD to find out the Titles in question if you need to.

Using DVDShrink on the original disk, I blanked out titles 7, 8, 32, 10, 11, and 12.

Ok, going back to the Copy2clipboard matter. Open up VIDEO_TS.IFO in IfoEdit. Ensure that C:\*\VIDEO.TS.IFO is highlighted. Click on Copy2clipboard and you should a subtle flash. Open a new post and right-click in writing area and select paste. I just want the Number of Title Play Maps so you can edit out the other stuff out.

Good!:D Now, I want to start again with your original ripped files. Open up your ripped folder with PgcEdit (http://home.tiscali.be/debie.roland/pgcedit/index.html). On your left is your PGC Selection list. You should see VTST lines with the Titles you mentioned.

Could you tell me how is using PGC to blank out unwanted material as oppose to using DVDStripper to remove them?

I assume it doesn't do the Post to Pre commands conversion? Anyways, I was just providing another free alternative since I've been using PgcEdit's blanking option alot nowadays. ;)

I used PGC to remove all the unwanted materials and it had the same results as the first attempt with Stripper. It creates empty titles that the DVD player scans through first before reaching the menu.

I played around with the precommand in the VTS file but I just cant seem to get the right navigations.

Yes, you will have blank titles playing. If you had a single blank title prior to, you wouldn't see a delay but since you had 6, it'll be more obvious.

I played around with the precommand in the VTS file but I just cant seem to get the right navigations. The thing about putting a "jump to your root menu" command in your First Play PGC, as you read around, is that there's a possibility for errors. Prior to your main menu displaying, there may be alot of commands with GPRM and SPRMs settings. Also, you'll have alot of compare commmands with these parameters (If-then-goto). If you jump to your root menu in First Play, you will be bypassing value comparisons and settings. Therefore, you may experience errors. Invalid navigations or DVD stoppage. :( Jumping to root menu is not 100% successful. IMO, it's pretty much a trial and error.

I originally used Stripper but since you introduced to PGCEdit, I actually like it more. Its a whole lot faster and I can actually see what is going on.

Since you explained to me about the potential errors associated with the menu jump, I can relax now and not beat myself up trying to get it to work.

It's always been my personal goal to not only get people to perform certain steps but to also have them understand on why they did it. Besides the consecutive blank Titles, I'm glad your DVD structure is still intact and working for you. Just keep in mind, not all DVDs are the same. ;)
