I have tried searching for an answer on Doom 9 without success (I could be blind)and my question may be basic but I am having problems with viewing DVD in Ifoedit. When I hit play DVD I get The following message:-

Found filters for direct X:
Dsound Renderer
Video Renderer
Moonlight Odio Dekoda
Overlay Mixer
Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder
DVD Navigator

I then continue and get the following:-

1 out of 3 DVD video streams failed to render properly - subpicture stream
No valid DVD video volume could be located
The video decoder doesn't produce closed caption data
Do you still want to continue.

What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do to get Ifoedit to work properly.

Any help appreciated.

I had problems with IfoEdit with I used Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder. Try removing that.

EDIT:

Here's my thread I posted at DVDRBASE.com when I was trying to get MenuModder to work.

Just wanted to say that installing Moonlight-Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder v. 2.0 build 2510 also worked for me. I was getting the same errors like previous posts.

Initialization failure in InitRenderToSurface
Call to InitRenderToSurface failed

Here's the link > http://www.elecard.com/download/#mpeg2decoder

Unfortunately after installing, when I DVD Play in IfoEdit 0.95/0.96, I now get this error. I didn't have it before.

Warning

*1 out of 3 DVD-Video streams failed to render properly
-subpicture stream
* The video decoder doesn't produce closed caption data

Do you still want to continue?

Prior to installing, I had these filters for IfoEdit 0.95/0.96.

Found Filters for DirectX:

DSound Renderer
Video Renderer
Cyberlink Audio Decoder
Overlay Mixer
Line21 Decoder
CyberLink Video/SP Decoder
DVD Navigator

After installing Elecard files...

Found Filters for DirectX:

DSound Renderer
Video Renderer
Cyberlink Audio Decoder
Overlay Mixer
Elecard MPEG2 Video Decoder
DVD Navigator

I had confirmed that my Elecard decoders were a problem with IfoEdit as when I renamed my "Elecard" folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ to "Elecard2", IfoEdit now starts DVDPlay with no errors.

Specifically, it was the "mpgdec.ax" file in the Elecard folder that was causing IfoEdit grief. If you temporarily rename this, like "mpgdec.axx", then IfoEdit would work again with no errors.

Thanks for your reply 2Cool

I searched for any traces of elecard on my PC and there were none. I then searched for the file mpgdec.ax and found it in my DVDXcopy Platinum. I No longer use this program so I removed it and the offending file.

I then tried Ifoedit again and hit the DVD Play button the following occurred:-

Found filters for directX:
Dsound Renderer
AC3 Prologic recorder
DVD Navigator

I hit OK and got:-

2 out of 3 DVD-video streams failed to render properly
- Video Stream
- Subpicture stream
No valid DVD Volume could be located
Do you still want to continue?

I hit the yes button and got:-

Cannot get the IvideoWindow Interface. Sorry can't play DVD titles.

I hit OK and got:-

! Played Titles

Which then reverted back to the original Ifoedit screen.

I then hit the DVD Play in Ifoedit again without doing anything else and the following occurred:-

Found filters for directX:
Dsound Renderer
Video Renderer
AC3 Prologic recorder
Overlay Mixer
Line21 Decoder
Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder
DVD Navigator

I hit OK and got:-

No valid DVD Volume could be located
Do you still want to continue?

I hit the yes button and the DVD loaded into Ifoedit and was able to be played.

So I got rid of any reference of the Elecard by removing DVDXCOPY Platinum but still got errors.

I don't want to go through the process of hitting DVD Play twice to play a DVD in Ifoedit. Is there anything else I should try even though I eventually get the DVD to play.
