Just got my DVD burner about a week ago, and up until now, I've only been using it to burn CDs. The main reason is, I'm not real sure what programs to use. So my question is, what programs would work the best for what I want to do? Basically I just want to back up a few of my DVDs, and have the ability to select all the different extras as to whether or not i want to keep them (audio tracks, subtitles, etc...) So, any help would be apreciated.

hi corranjedi and welcome to the forum!
there is nothing wrong with being new at something, although a little investigative work on your own behalf can go a long way in answering your initial questions ... and before long you will be an old hand at this :D
i suggest you start with the Bascis (http://www.doom9.org/dvd-basics.htm)
then take a look at the Guides (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/guides.htm)
in particular the DVD backup guides (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdbackup-guides.htm)
i would strongly suggest you look at the tools featured in the 'Speed over Quality' section, in particular DVDShrink which always receives favourable reviews in the One click DVD backup solutions (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=65) forum.
use the search (http://forum.doom9.org/search.php?s=) button to see if your problem/question has been answered before (and chances are it has), and most important of all, is to read, try for yourself, and choose the method that best suits you.
good luck and enjoy the forum
cheers
