Why it is not AR Calculator in the Download section from Doom9?

Is the very great tool to obtain the greatest quality in only third passes.

I don't resize and for reading what is written on the back of a DVD case and entering that in a text field or selecting from a dropdown box i don't really need a tool. Anyway, there certainly are people who still do resize..

It's not about resizer it'a about AVSOptimizer motion based filtering to achive better compressibility in faster scenes and use saved bitrate in slower sharp scenes. If I'm correct.

ARC was an Aspect Ratio Calculator but nowadays ARC included the neccesary tools (autocrop, compresibility check, best aspect ratio calculate, avsoptimizer with profiles edition/use --the best .avs script optimization--, optimization of .avs script with qmf.avs edition/use, manual avs edition with preview, encoding with avs2avi or VirtualDub/VirtualDubMod, control job queue list, etc) for ripping at maximum quality with any codec (XviD, DivX, etc) and english/spanish/etc option's language for everybody's use.:D
We are waiting for a help to translate ARC's manual to english.

Perhaps the program needs a name change. It takes to confusion and it devaluates the true capacities of this great program. Try it and get your own conclusions.

Seems like the project is beeing abandoned, what a pitty!
Wonder why updates were never reported at www.doom9.org, and no mirror was provided in the download section.
Seems that this among other things discouraged the authors :(

I'm still not entirely clear on how to use the Avisynth Optimizer function. Does it require QMF Filter to be checked before it works? Or is that a separate feature?
I have no idea how to enable the Avisynth Optimizer otherwise, and there is no explanation. I Babelfished the manual, with no luck.

They are different optimization methods, so, if you use AVSOptimizer, do not check QMF and viceversa.
