dvd-rb not telling cce enough passes

i've tried this with both cce sp 2.5 and cce sp 2.67.00.23. when dvd-rb opens cce, cce is only doing one pass, when in the advanced options i have it set to 6.(i wanted it to do 5, but in previous version i had to set it to 6 to do 5). that's another little error. but with 0.59 all i'm getting is 1 pass.

In 0.58/0.59, there are 2 calls to CCE. The first call is 1 pass, next call is 5 passes.

This is normal.

The first time RB creates the VAF file, then the second one it does the other passes.

oop sorry for wasting your time guys... that's just me being paranoid, i guess i thought i just saw it encoding the .m2v, guess it was the vaf file. thanks

Actually I have experienced this same issue when using v.58 and one click mode. It was under the same circumstances as you described. When I had set to use 6 passes in dvd-rebuild, it only ran the first pass, and not the 5 others. It would do this for every file, and not just the first and I ended up with a video_ts folder of only around 2 gigs.

The problem occurred when I stopped using the cce trial and began using the cce sp retail changed the cce path to point to the retail cce instead of the eclcce/cce sp trial.

I then tried setting to 7 passes and began encoding. This worked. I aborted and tried 5 passes. It worked and I again aborted. Then I tried 6 passes again and this time it worked.

I'm not sure how it works with the latest v.59.

Incidently I tried to post this a few days ago, but there is some absolutely ridiculous rule whereby one must be registered for 5 days before posting.
