NOTE -- at one point I got the message "EFCreateError Cannot create file C:\DVD1\DVD2SVCD.INI" I stopped & recovered, and it seemed to go fine from there. Is that the problem, and if so, is there anything I can do to recover from it.

Many thanks!:thanks:

Firstly check that you don't have "No images" checked in the CD image tab :)

Then try crash recovery from the authoring stage. If this doesn't work, you may have to either start over or author manually using VCDEasy or similar.

Thanks for the quick response. I checked the CD Image tab, & it's set at VCDXBuild. I'll try to recover from the TMPEng encoding stage (as we know, all of the heavy lifting has been done at that point, which makes it even more frustrating when it goes south at that point). In the meantime, any other ideas / suggestions would be apreciated!
Onwards!!! Thanks again.:)

I would see if you could recover from some point AFTER TMPGEnc before giong through the whole video encoding bit again!

As I said, if the multiplexed MPEG file is fine, you could author manually.
