I've gotten this as well, didn't think it had been there before :)

But it doesn't seem to cause any problems if you view the newly-created .vob files with WinDVD, at least for me.

I got this also when I stripped some stuff out previosly to RB. I guess it's a sign RB is missing some content, but foregives you and continues rebuilding ;)

This is how I ripped my DVD. Use DVD Shrink 3.2's Re-Author, no compression, only choose Main Movie Title 1 and DTS audio track. Then use DVD-RB + CCE SP 2.67.00.xx.

Yeah, I tend to strip most movies befoehand with DVD Shrink as well, usually leaving just the DD 5.1 soundtrack. I'd have to check and make sure what exact types of rips its happening on, I didn't really pay it much notice when it happened because the end results played fine :)

It is just a minor suggestion: IMHO you'd better leaving rebuilder do the job of stripping all the unwanted audio tracks; it does the job very well [at least in the VOB files]. If you want to have also the ifo files corrected, you can use Shrink AFTER DVD-RB...

This is because the audio track removal is a quite complex operation, that changes heavily the size and the contents of the original files...

Cheers,
SD

You can also slip and do the stripping between DVD-RBs first and second or second and third phases... when you do that the results are unpredictable. The referenced error is reporting that is suspects this has happened.

1. I am not sure I understand your last sentence. I ran DVD-RB in One-Click mode so there should be nothing changed.
2. I have to rip it (no compression) using DVD Shrink because DTS is not the first audio track. I remembered I used to de-selected all audio tracks except DTS (2nd audio track) and after rebuilding all I got was blank screen with a colored bar at the bottom.

Hrmm, I hadn't thought of that. Since I usually back up the movie only, and no menus or extras, I 1st rip it, and since I want to remove everything in the ifo file that pertains to those stripped menus and so on, I just use DVD Shrink to rip the audio and recreate the ifo files from scratch. I used to do that in ifoedit, but DVD Shrink gives you a quick estimate of your necessary compression, is pretty quick about it, and has a nice GUI - I like the drag and drop in reauthor mode, that's the only way I ever use Shrink. I've never actually transcoded a movie with it.

I don't see why I couldn't reauthor the DVD after I reencoded it though - never occured to me to try it that way.

As for DVD-RB thinking something has been stripped between phases, that doesn't apply to what I have been doing either. I always strip 1st, and even when not using 1-click mode (which I don't all the time), I've never "slipped" and stripped something in between passes or anything.

The good news is that DVD-RB does get past this error (at least when we really aren't stripping something between passes) and still rebuilds a high-quality movie with no noticable errors.

Maybe it doesn't apply to you. But just because DVD-RB is running in single click mode -- it doesn't mean that a user or some process can't change the files...

Hey, not denying that DVD-RB thinks something is up :) It's getting the error for one reason or another. Not everytime, but sometimes. And I strip every movie I back up.

Personally, it strikes me as a harmless error, since it seems to have no effect on the end product. At least on my pc and my standalone dvd player.

One question though - if I run the move through DVD-RB 1st, and then strip the extras, all i need to correctly process the movie are the main movie .vob files, and the corresponding ifo, correct? Not the very first vob with all of the menus either.
And no video_ts.vob or anything, correct? I want the movie and thats it, if DVD-RB is fine with nothing but the main vob files and corresponding ifo.

[08:13:33] Phase III, REBUILD completed in 26 minutes.

Since Star War IV R1 disc has 3 angles, I use DVD Shrink to "re-author" main title (angle one only), audio 1 and subtitle 1. No compression though.

I don't know where the problem is. If some one could tell me how to debug the whole process (shrink, rb, cce, avisync), I would be very much appreciated.
