View Full Version : Error '5' on satellite vob

Hi,

I have a dvd I made from a satellite feed (544x480 resolution.) Unfortunately, it doesn't run on the one player I need it to (it works fine on most players.) I wanted to use CCE to reencode it to a fully compliant resolution, but when I try to do it, I get a runtime error '5' on prepare.

Any ideas why? Is there a way around whatever is causing the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

How did you make a DVD with that odd resolution? My best guess is that it is all in one cell and is too big for DVD-RB to handle. What did you use to create it?

I used DVD-lab. DVD-RB looks at it for a fraction fo a second before giving up; that might help decide if it was a size issue.

The DVD consists of 3 movies I took from my satellite HD, so none of the movies can be over about 1.5 gig (unless DVD lab made it all into one cell?)

You never imagine what I thought a satellite vob was... :)

Must try to find this old sputnik-super-8 thread...

So I guess this won't be supported any time soon. I don't suppose if I sent someone a small version of a DVD (< 2 megs for example) in this resolution they might be able to fix it? I'd really love to be able to use DVD rebuilder for this purpose... otherwise I have to convert the video to a reasonable resolution, build the dvd I want, then compress it so it fits correctly on the disc. I want to maximize space, so I always start out with something too big.
