WinXP SP2, WMP10 Final, Windows Media Codecs 9 (latest)

The 1st problem is with movie files (avi, mpg) with MONO audio tracks - video AND audio playback is significantly slowed down (audio distorted), no excessive cpu usage, never had this
problem with WMP9.


2nd problem: 100% cpu usage (by wmplayer.exe) during wmv
files playback, again never had this issue with WMP9.

I have no such problem...Do you have any codec packs installed?

no. no such packs. i only install those few codecs that i really need. maybe u have a different configuration on your machine? someone said he didn't have these probs with WMP10 on XP SP1.

besides im only talking about these two very specific cases: video with MONO audio track and WMV playback ( i found out i have this 100% cpu usage with just a part of wmv files i have , others play alright but i haven't figured out the pattern when the prob appears yet). in the few other players i tried on all of these files and in graphedit they play fine just like they used to in WMP9. its a pity graphedit doesnt show WMP's filter graph as it does for some other players (in Connect to Remote Graph...). all the rest of my media files play perfectly in WMP10, audio and video playback generally seem to have been quite improved and i've not discovered any other significant issues with it so far.

Config:
WinXP SP2, DX 9.0c
WMP10, WM9 codecs(latest)
OggDS 0.9.9.6, Matroska Pack 1.03 (splitter, muxer and Prop), DivX 5.2.1, AC3filter 0.7b (fixed), MMswitch 0.99 (fixed), VobSub 2.33, WinDVD6 codecs (for DVD and MPEG2).

BTW u ever tried to play multiangle DVDs in WMP (9 or 10)? the "dvd features -> camera angle" context menu item always remains shadowed (unusable) even when this multiangle icon pops up in the corner of the screen prompting to check out other angles. i mean the player must be using the same codecs as WinDVD (which has no prob with that) and yet it fails to use them properly.
yeah thats another one WMP prob I have, but its not version specific.
