I have "Mickey in living color" in DVD and i want to decrypt the two angles stored in some VOBs into a single VOB in my hard drive.
I have tried to disable the "Retain angle X in VOBs" because i thought it would retain all angles in the DVD when dumping to the hard disk.
I also tried to enable "Stream Processing" so it would decrypt streams 0xE0 and 0xE1 (I suppose the second angle will be muxed into PES packets with ID = 0xE1) but it didn't work neither.

Anybody can help me, please? I am tring to demux that in order to complete my thesis about MPEG 2. :D

Are you sure there are 2 angles?

Just rip in IFO mode - if there are angles, you'll see 'Angle 1', 'Angle 2' etc in the tree view.

If they're not proper angles, they'll just be different PGCs.

Yes, they are.

I can see them properly in my DVD home cinema and using PowerDVD in my PC. Taking a closer look to the stream, it seems to have a unique packet ID for both angles, so i suppose they are multiplexed into the same packet ID in different program streams... maybe am i wrong?
If that is this way, i can't understand what is the purpose of having different IDs for packets if they are never used.

Would you mind explaining this a bit, please Lightning UK?

The aim of my question was to demux both angles into the same program stream using different packets labeled 0xE0, 0xE1 and so on, but i finally did this by hand, multiplexing packs from the first angle and then packs in the second angle consecutively.

Like I said, go into IFO mode and see what you get in the tree view for that VTS set.

Do you have 2 similar length PGCs or 1 PGC with 2 angles listed under it?

If you only have a single PGC with 0 angles listed, look at the stream processing tab and tell me what streams are listed.

I've never seen a dvd using 0xE1 so it would be a first for me if this ones does!

That DVD has 1 PGC with 2 angles listed under it in the tree view. In the stream processing tab, that 0xE1 stream doesn't appear at all, but i am sure there are packets with 0xE1 ID since I seek for them using HexWorkshop.

So if you want each angle in its own vob, just select an angle from the tree view in IFO mode and rip it.

Of course you'll need to change the destination folder for the second angle because it'll try and overwrite the first ones files.

I still very much doubt it's using 0xE1. You could check it via stream processing in File mode or use VobEdit.

Maybe i could be able to post a screenshot of the binary when 0xE1 appears, but i have realized that it could be not a packet, but something i don't know about.

Anyway, would you mind explaining what is the difference in having two packets with IDs 0xE0 and 0xE1, and having two diffent programs when coding multiangle video, please?

Not really, because I dont know myself! All I know is that I've seen quite a few films with multiple angles, seamless branching etc and I've never seen (or heard of) a dvd ever using anything in addition to 0xE0 for the video stream.

The IFO files just make the players take a different route through the vobs and so play different content depending on which angle you've selected.
