i have got the vob files on hard drive (music) i have been trying to convert them to mpeg2, with limited sucsess. used Yasasoft, ImTOO, and dvd converter.
the system i have is a P4, 2.8 prescot, 2*512 sticks ddr.

system will convert one file then play up, re boot its self, lock up or the prog being used closes down half way through a file. (i closed all non essential progs, firewall, antivirus ect, got 94% system resorces free).

anyone know what the prob might be?

also, some of the files are missing the last second or 2, very anoying when the file ends with a freez frame cos the fade out is not there.

is there anything out there that will let me add fade out to a file? (like a video version of cool edit)?
thanks guys

you can you womble mpeg-vcr that to apply fade in or out without reencode mpegs. (not free)
but i never did using .mpegs renamed from .vobs, you need to test!

maybe cuttermaram (free) can do the same and have a new version in doom9 page today:
