H3110,

I just carryed out my first ripp with DVD-RB V.58 vs.
CCE SP v2.67.00.27 AND IT'S IS GREAT!! Jdobbs u the man! ;)

fast, stable, and it's beautiful ;)

take a look at this mummy =)

PS: Have some questions, how can this be that the bitrate is so high?
I been rippning load's of my own dvd's with the same size as this one 5GB. And haven't receive a biterate this high.

I been rippning load's of my own dvd's with the same size as this one 5GB. And haven't receive a biterate this high. It's probably not a very long movie. The fact that the reduction level is at 84% agrees with that...

108 minutes for an encode at CCE quality... not bad, eh?

@McClane

Those times are pretty damn good. What kinda computer do you have? And what speeds do you see in CCE SP?

EDIT: I suppose those are about right considering I usually dont use Rebuilder unless the movie is huge, long and I need to use filters. All of which slow down the encode process... NOt to mention I do 4 passes.

in 4-pass (5-pass with DVDRB) i do about 4h30 - 5hours with CCE SP with a 6 Gb Movie
The quality is really better than any other MPEG encoder and so easy in one click :D
but you need CCE for the best result

about the bitrate thing..I thing that older no good crack cce's have a limit when it comes to the bitrate. Becouse as I said before I tryed many movies like that one and did not get that kind of bitrate =)

.... The bitrate is set by DVD-RB, not CCE.

aaah so you had a limit? ;)

Yes, but it is 9,000Kbs or 7,500Kbs (depending upon whether it is doing framerate conversion of 29.97fps content). It's based upon hte maximum bitrate that is acceptable for DVD. So your values are well under it.

Okay I know what you saying..It's just that somehow I am geting better bitrate on my movies now with dvd-rb v.58. Have u done anything ?? hum sorry will check the update notes for v.58.

someting has happend that's for shure..am glad but still little angry becouse all my movies cud be this good =). but keep up the good work..

PS: now when am doing another movie and put cce on 4 passed the speed goe's up to 2.72 and normal for me is 2.30-2.40 with 2 passes hum??

Have so many questions ...

later..

If you were using CCE (in VBR mode) on previous versions you have gotten the same bitrate.

It's not clear which version of CCE SP you used before, but there is some a speed difference between 2.50 and 2.67.x to the advantage of versions 2.67.

...

The "normal" speed is exactely what you have already obtained with your previous excellent title, applying 2 passes...

I am normally using the same on the most part of my rebuild sessions, and the results are equally good; just on few titles i am using three, but as already stated, every one has a subjective approach to the word "quality".

In normal conditions, each pass increase produces just very little improvements in the movie quality, in spite of a relevant increase of the encoding time...

IMHO, of course...

Cheers,
SD

I used Cinema Craft Encoder SP v2.67.00.23 tryout, but that's not what am talking about.

oOh it's hard I think to explan when my english grama is so poor.

But the question was about CCE SP v2.67.00.27. Yesterday I did some backups and the first movie was my "Spawn" I did 2 passes on that one and it whent on for 108min at a speed of 2.30 - 2.40 (CCE SP SPEED)

Now I did BRAVEHEART it's much longer and about 7GB so I whent with 4 passed on this one. And it whent on for 289min at a speed of 2.70 CCE SP SPEED)

So here is the question.. how can I hit fast encoding speed when I did 4 passes? or is it just deppening on what kind o dvd am backuping?

If I remember "Spawn" is a 1:85 to 1 aspect ratio (Tall Widescreen) movie and BRAVEHEART is a 2:35 to 1 aspect ratio (Short Widescreen) movie, with BRAVEHEART having a smaller screen size (less area to encode) it well encode faster.

Thanks man ...it might be like that.. ;)

I just did a test of DVDRB .58 with CCE SP 2.67.00.xx. It worked. Thx, jdobbs.
