please help : xvid codec hang

I'm using Premiere with xvid codec (last version) for video encoding.

at a first time this work fine , but august beginning , we do all the
windows XP upgrades (not the SP2 at this time) , after then using Premiere , the progress bar is displaying and hang.
I can only kill the process .

This occurs only with the xvid codec , not with others codec.

That append ?

As far as I know, it is highly not recommended to encode from premiere to xvid. On animemusicvideos.org, they recommend encoding to huffyuv, and then using vdub(mod) to convert it to xvid.

It would be very nice if someone discovered what goes wrong.

I have found one major problem using xvid with anything other than vdub, is the encoding status.

Disabling the encoding status with these apps, will often make them work together.

There is "something" wrong with the Status Window. Half the time it goes haywire and corrupts the quant graph and then the entire Windows display (98SE).
