Making a rip of Independence day Pal 16/9.
Source looks interlaced in GordianKnot preview but not if i load the .AVS in VDubMod
Why is that ?

Anyway I would like to know the best Deinterlace filter to use of the ones shown below. I don't care about speed. Only quality :-)

honestly i really do not think that your source is interlaced. if it really is pal and comes of a standard dvd it definitely isn't

oh and btw, what version gknot are you using? shouldn't there be kerneldeinterlace() in the list with the latest versions?!

anyway, from the list you show, i personally prefer Fielddeinterlace(blend=false) for Pal content!

I'm using version 0.32. And yes KernelDeinterlace is available.
Shouldn't the preview in GKnot be trusted ?
As it clearly show´s interlacing.

Is kerneldeinterlace the best ?

Before you go and wreck it with a deinterlacer, try putting on Telecide(Order=1,Post=0) by itself (no Decimate) to see if that straightens it out.

Yes, if you have to deinterlace, then KernelDeint is probably the best.
