Hi all,

I just recently ran a virus scan using Norton Antivirus and it said it detected a Trojan virus call FirstReboot.exe. After it detected it, I checked for it under the antivirus definitions and I didn't see it listed. I did a search on google, and the only thing I could find on it was that FirstReboot.exe was a tool used for the Hercules Game Theater XP card. I do have this card.

1. Has anybody else run into this?
2. If it is for the card, what is it used for? Is it needed?

Your help is deeply appreciated.

hmmm. perhaps heuristic search is turned on in norton.

if it's a small file, send it in to them. i'm sure they'd be able to do something with it.

firstboot.exe sure seems like a suspect name - first boot operations are done from window's registry, not any specific exe file.

zip the file, or put it somewhere it can't be run and send it off to norton.
