Ati vivo capturing problems

This is the problem: "The TV Player failed to initialize the video"
That's what Ati's multimedia center says when I try to open the TV-capturing program. I tried vdubmod aswell, and the picture in there is just black.

I got:
Windows 2000 with DirectX 9
ASUS RADEON 9600XT 128mb VIVO
and I've tried using the catalysts and asus drivers. Games run fine, this is the only thing that just doesn't work.

I've asked around and searched the forum, I just don't know what to do :(

forgot to post the fact that I don't get drivers like on my friends ATi radeon:
- no tuner
- no video capture
- no audio capture
- no crossbar
I'm pretty sure... 99% it's a driver issue, and none of the drivers on Asus/ATi help. What is there left to do?

Are you sure this thing actually has a TV tuner?

If I google this card I get a card that has video capping capabilities, but no tuner, so any TV program would not work for obvious reasons....

So you can only capture external videosources with it.

VIVOs doesn't have tuners, just a video-in.
I got it connected to my TV thru a scart.

The image is just black (and flickering) in virtual vcr / power vcr / vdub.
MMC just doesn't work at all.

The SCARTs on most TV's are input only (exept for the sound), so that might be your problem.

If you have a VCR, try using that instead.

I assumed it'd would work both ways since all tv's I've tried it on the scart was being used to send signals to the tv on AV channels and send out signals on all the others. But... when I tried to capture just the audio now I got nothing! It seems you're correct. I need to find something I can try this on
