ShowTime Player and MP3pro

Jeez,

As some of you know, many of us are currently engrossed in testing Nero/Ahead's proposed H.264/AVC beta codec (by Ateme).

Anyway, earlier today I thought I would give Nero's much improved ShowTime Player a try at playing some old XviD/MP3pro in AVI and XviD/MP3pro in MKV encodes.

And to my surprise both encodes played perfectly. A little logo appears in the player and everything: -

hm its known for pretty some time now that neros dshow filter also decode mp3pro

True, but I can't remember anybody confirming that such streams worked when muxed into the AVI or MKV container - but sadly not MP4 :(

I remember a few of us asking if this kind of feature would ever become possible... a few months ago!
