am i the only one having trouble with windows service pack xp2?

after what seemed like forever i finally got my dvd system working fine, backed up stacks of my dvd's,

i installed xp sp2 and none of my dvd software has worked since!

i have cucusoft avi2dvd convertor and burner which was working excellent with my avi files, converting them to dvd, burning them and away you go, but now i keep getting error's everywhere or system simply crashes,

the new windows media player won't play ANY of my avi files or xvid files,

and i have a host of coasters from just trying to burn some music on cd's !
man i havn't made a coaster from a cd in years,
(plenty of dvd coasters true)

can anyone please help,

i need some pointers big time

p.s

i've also tried trial versions of maybe ten other dvd burners/cpnverters all with no luck,

i've emailed cucusoft, microsoft and a handful of other companies but the only advise i've had so far was from msn and they suggested i restore to before i installed sp2, tried that, won't work, wouldn't let me carry out the restore?

Its kind of hard to troubleshoot a problem like this without actually seeing what is happening with your system. I take it you have tried deleting then reloading the drivers for your dvd burner? Do you have any yellow question marks under your device manager? If all else fails you could wipe your hard drive, reload windows xp, make sure your dvd burner works, then install sp2 and see what happens.

Check your codecs by seeing what codec is being used within zoom player, u probably just need to re-register a filter to prioritize it back to the primary codec filter...
