User-friendly application for DV video editing

I work with premiere for my DV-NLE-editing, but I'm looking for a user-friendly app for a friend newbye in video editing.
What can I look for?

for cutting virtualdub is all you need
for easy of use i can recommed Pinnacle 9

BUT i would prefer premiere pro.

(in italiano: pinnacle 9 mi ha rovinato 4 mesi di lavoro al mio filmino di nozze !!!. Con premiere e' filato tutto liscio !)

There is a product from Magix called MEP2004 or for Europe called Video Deluxe 2004 - 2005.

This is a 16 track all purpose NLE that accepts frame serving from Virtualdub and it's spinoffs.

There are close outs of previous versions as low as $9.95 US. It will out do Vegas and Premire and burns DVDs Too many features to list. The new version MEP2005 will do HD editing and costs $39.00 euro dollars.
