View Full Version : 5.1 AAC-LC to Stereo Wave = Slow

The method I use to get an 5.1 AAC (which is inside a .mkv file) to Stereo Wave is: Using GraphEdit. This is really slow, it almost encodes it at realtime! Then I have to increase the volume using GoldWave which ads for time:(
Is there any faster way?

foobar2000 using the downmixer and ReplayGain DSPs with the diskwriter output preset "fixed WAV 16bit".

Is there any way or plugins to let foobar convert the framerate of the file? BeSweet is not working and VirtualDub MOD won't open the AVISynth script.
EDIT: OK I managed to get BeSweet to work and change the length of the audio file from 23.976fps to 25fps. I'm trying to make a dual audio DVD. The movie length is 22:24, and the Japanese audio converted came out right at 22:24, but when I do the English audio it comes out at 22:39, the source is also slightly longer. What should I do?

I'm still unable to convert this file, foobar will not read it. When I open the mkv in GraphEdit, the audio stream is labelled as "HE-AAC". I then demux it with Vdub MOD and get a 26Mb file. This file doesn't get an extension when demuxed. I am able to play the sound when it's in the mkv but not when it's demuxed
I am able to convert it using GraphEdit, but the sound quality is poor. Is there any other way?

I am able to play the sound when it's in the mkv but not when it's demuxed. The correct file extension would be *.aac if demuxing it with VirtualDub works correctly at all. I think I've read somewhere that you need mkvtoolnix to demux (HE-)AAC from Matroska, but don't know if this is true. The resulting AAC file must have ADTS headers in order to be playable in other decoders, so this could be the problem with the VirtualDub demuxing method.
I am able to convert it using GraphEdit, but the sound quality is poor. Is there any other way? The sound quality of a HE-AAC file is poor if played back with a decoder that can only play AAC LC files. By the way, why did you use "5.1 AAC LC" in the subject of this thread?

Yep, MKVToolNix did the trick, thank god there is a GUI for it because that thing is annoying to use:(

Because at first I thought it was an LC file, as stated by Vdub and a couple of other progs, but since foobar says HE then I guess it's the correct one.
Thanx for the help mate:)
