View Full Version : Convert video from 16:9 to 4:3 in Premiere

I have a 50 sec video which is in the format 16:9 and want to convert it to 4:3.

I tried this but the result was that instead of decreasing the top and bottom margins, the left and right margins were increased, so picture got smaller on a standard tv. Like a small "box" in the centre of the screen.

Can anyone help pls? Hope I explained myself well but if anyone needs clarification, pls ask.

in Premiere or Premiere Pro?

well..in Premiere Pro what you do is start a 4:3 project, import your footage, interpret footage to 4:3, goto effects control, DONT check the uniform scale, scale height to 75.

I double clicked motion in effect controls and set the area. It worked. Thanks for your idea Hendrix.
