i want to convert an asf file into mpeg format. i used asftools to convert asf to avi. i viewed the avi file and there was nothing wrong. but after i converted the avi file to mpeg, discolorations (flesh tones becomes very pink!) occur approximately every 10 seconds in the lower right section of the screen. the discoloration will last about 10 seconds then it reverts back to its proper color. this cycle occurs throughout the video.
im clueless to what im going to do about it. i tried adjusting the environmental settings in TMPG, but it didnt solve the problem (avi2 setting unchecked because TMPG freezes a lot when avi2 option is checked)
also, i merged 2 or more mpegs created by TMPG. all mpegs have similar settings. occasionally, not always, a short sharp high pitch noise occur between mpegs. how can i correct this?
i tried correcting the mpeg headers using vcdgear (someone suggested it in another thread), but vcdgear found no errors in the mpeg file.
