I'd read through the thread detailing Oversized Xvid rips, but I"m having quite the opposite.
I know that i'd read somewhere on here something about undersized rips, and I apoligize if I am repeating a question. I honestly tried to find the thread (pretty sure it was here, and not on another board).
Anyhow, I have always had terrific luck with AutoGK when backing up my DVDs (I have around 50 that I'm trying to back up for the kids to watch) where they rip exactly to 700Mb. Beautiful quality as of late.
However, VERY recently, I've been getting constant 450Mb rips, almost as solid as my 700Mb discs were, filesize. However the quality is not as good as those 700Mb ones were. (It IS going through both passes, and completes without any errors reported).
I'm selecting to rip to fit to One CD as I always have. THe only difference is that I may possibly be using a slightly newer Xvid Codec. .but only if it's downloaded with newer versions of AutoGK.
I understand that if a video is already at the maximum quality the filesize won't increase, however these videos are the same lenght as the other ones that I've been working with. The video quality is lower, and I"m still selecting AC3/Variable Bitrate MP3.
I have reinstalled my OS and reapplied all updates etc. System is cleaner, and I've even tried uninstall/reinstalling AutoGK to see if that would clear things up.
Thanks in advance.
