Quoted from the sites svcdtodvdr guide... "The vertical resolution can be left untouched, but you have to change the horizontal resolution from 480 to 352."

So my question is, what if the svcd horizontal resolution is not 480, rather in my case it is 720 (which i believe is dvd compatible). Do i still need to use dvdpatcher and perform this step, or will the mpeg2 stream be fine without patching.

Also, i notice that the default patched bitrate is 3500000, should i use custom option and set this to match the input bitrate (as fir first film i am using is 2480000 and the second is 2449200) would patching the bitrate to a higher amount cause problems, or prevent me from fitting the same amount of video on the dvdr disk.

TIA

If the horizontal resolution is 720 then you don't have an SVCD (rather it may be an XSVCD...a non-compliant SVCD). Anyway, you should be able to just import the video straight into any DVD authoring app if this is the case. i.e. no patching required.

The bitrate is just a heading stamp, it shouldn't really affect anything, except if you are dealing with a lower-end authoring app and the stamped value is high. So just leave it at the default.

Thank you for the info, decided on a completely different (and much quicker and easier) approach to it using just a single program.
