DV as a TV Tuner (realtime)?

Is there a way to get DV to be a TV Tuner in a way that it plays back the images realtime? I'm comparing video/sound events on the camera and the image on the computer, and apparently it looks like the image on the computer is lagged by maybe close to half a second (500 ms). Is there any way to reduce this lag? (e.g., for things like playing video games)

By the way, I have a Sony DCR-TRV25 camcorder.

EDIT: Can anyone suggest any good TV Tuner software that's meant to deal with DV camcorders? (e.g., supporting both video and audio input from the firewire cable)

As a newbie, I had this problem where my DivX was showing images about 1 second too late...and found after weeks of reading in this forum that my Duron800Mhz was just NOT able to support the DivX decoding process. Of course, this was perfect for DV output as it requires less processing time (only a DV codec).

When you use the pass through feature (non tape recording) to capture TV or in your case video games there is a slight "lag" because the camera has to compress the video inside, the DV is then transferred to the computer over the firewire cable. This accounts for the delay and there is nothing you can do about it.

This lag is very tiny, but for video games it makes a huge difference because response time is important. In this case you are better off with a traditional tv capture card.

I have never seen any TV tuner software for DV. The main reason there in none is that you can't change channels through the DV cam. Hence the name "tv tuner software", there is no tv tuner in a DV cam.
