1_0ch ac3 --> 1_0ch mp3

I know how to encode a mono wav to a mono mp3, but I cannot figure out how to get a mono ac3 to a wav or a mp3, it keeps making a stereo wav or a j/s mp3

I also used the search, I found 1 topic about this subject, unfortunately, the guys questioned was never really answered too clearly.

I don't know about directly encoding from mono AC3 to MP3, but you could certainly just let the AC3 create a stereo wave and then merge the channels to mono. If you don't have an audio editor, an excellent freeware one is available at http://audacity.sourceforge.net.
